  • If change is the mother of invention, then the changes that are taking place are leading us to the next chapter of the Herald-Dispatch office.

As of Monday, Terri Melheim was named the new editor of the Sleepy Eye Herald-Dispatch.

I could not be more proud to name Terri as our editor. She has worked very hard writing stories, covering events and keeping our online audience abreast of the news each week.

Terri has been with our staff for about a year and a half now and we are excited for her.

Along with Terri being named editor, there were changes in the e-mail system that has been used by our company, which took place on Tuesday. Everyone’s email address here has changed.

If you have us listed in your contacts please make the change as soon as possible. These will be the new e-mail addresses you will want to use to send news releases, photos, engagements, births, weddings, obituaries and other news you are trying to send to us.

We hope for a smooth transition as we work our way through these changes. If you have e-mailed something to our office and have not received a response from one of us, please call the office and confirm it has been received.

Congratulations to Maddy Helget on being crowned Miss Sleepy Eye and to Jessica Schmitz and Molly Schwartz as her attendants. We wish you a memorable year as you reign as Sleepy Eye’s ambassadors for 2013.
