  • The Wanda Gag House Association invites the area communities to a 120th Birthday Party for Wanda Gag on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 1 to 2:30 pm. The party will be held at the Brown County Historical Society Museum Annex, 2 North Broadway Street in New Ulm.
     
    Wanda Gag was a Newberry Honors and Caldecott Medal Awards winning children's book author and internationally acclaimed artist. She is the author of Millions of Cats - the oldest American picture book still in print. Her childhood home is located at 226 North Washington, New Ulm.
     
    The celebration includes an art education adventure, a reading of Millions of Cats, an origami cat art project and a guest appearance by a Wanda Gag character actor. Cat cookies and punch will be served. The event is free and open to the public.
