Harriet Macho age 76, of Hutchinson, passed away Monday at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson. Funeral Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye, with a spring interment in the Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Visitation will be Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Harriet Marie Macho was born on February 19, 1937, in Windom. She was the daughter of Calvin and Thelma (Hockstein) Peterson. She received her education in Windom and was a graduate of the Windom High School. On January 21, 1956, Harriet was united in marriage to Walter Macho, Jr. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Courtland. This marriage was blessed with five children, Carmen, Michael, Dennis, Robin and Pam. Harriet and Walter resided in Windom, Comfrey, Darfur and Sleepy Eye. They later moved to Hutchinson. Harriet was employed at Hutchinson Area Health Care in Hutchinson as a cook. She retired in 2005. Harriet was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. Harriet enjoyed going to casinos, cooking and listening to morning radio and country music. She also enjoyed traveling and canning. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends and caring for her cat, Blackie. Blessed be her memory.
Harriet is survived by her children, Carmen and (Julio) Juarez of Winthrop and children, Mike and Steve Suess (Dawn), Michael and (Barb) Macho of Hutchinson and children, Aaron, Sonya and (Troy) Scott and Kyle Macho, Dennis and (MaryAnn) Macho of Eden Prairie and children, Justin, Jennifer and Brandon Macho, Robin and Dale Schottle of Sleepy Eye and children Randy, Rusty and Nicole Schottle-Johnson (Brent Johnson), Pam Helget and Jim Helget of Hutchinson and children Riley, Sam Helget (Derek Plombon) and Shelby Helget; great grandchildren, Zach, Trinity and Anthony Suess, Jaden Suess, Gina, Ciana and Daunte Molinaro, Kenizie Scott, Dominick Macho, Cora and Cameron Schottle, Kane, Regan and Chael Johnson, Kolton Plombon; many other relatives and friends.
Harriet is preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Thelma Peterson; husband, Walter Macho, Jr.
