  • The Brown County Sheriff's Office would like to remind anglers that ice houses must be removed from local lakes by midnight on March 4th.

  • The Brown County Sheriff's Office would like to remind anglers that ice houses must be removed from local lakes by midnight on March 4th.
    Fisherman are also requested to use caution when entering lakes and retrieving ice houses.
    Some lakes have seen ice begin to thin and weaken, particularly near aeration units. Please be mindful of any caution markers.
    If shelters are not removed, owners will be prosecuted, and the structure and contents may be confiscated and removed, or destroyed by a conservation officer.
    After removal dates, shelters may remain on the ice between midnight and one hour before sunrise only when occupied or attended.
    Storing or leaving shelters on a public access is prohibited.
