Early Childhood screening is planned for Thursday, March 7, beginning at 8:30 a.m. This service is provided free of charge to preschoolers in the school district. It is a simple and careful check of the health and development of the child in the following areas: height and weight, vision, hearing, visual-motor skills, language and cognition, gross motor skills and speech development. When delays are detected early, they can often be corrected. Children who will be three and half by May 31 can participate in this screening day.
Registration for 2013-2014 preschools continues at all of the schools in Sleepy Eye. It is not too early to get a child's name on the list if this is something families want for their children.
