Eden Township in Brown County honored retirees Elmer Zempel and Lowell Mathiowetz recently for their years of service.

Eden Township in Brown County honored Elmer Zempel for his service to the township. Elmer spent 43 years as an employee of Eden Township as a road grader operator. He operated four different road graders during his tenure. Elmer was the third grader operator in the entire history for Eden Township.

Also honored for years of service was Lowell Mathiowetz for serving 36 years as an elected treasurer for Eden Township. Lowell’s father and uncle served as treasurer prior to his terms and his son Scott was elected treasurer after Lowell decided not to run for re-election.
