Appointments are being accepted for early childhood screening which will be held on Thursday, March 7. Appointments begin at 8:30 a.m. and it is hoped everyone will be able to find a time to participate by 12 noon. It takes about one hour to complete the stations. Children who will be four by the end of May have been invited to participate in this spring event plus anyone older who has not been able to come in the past.

A series of workshops entitled “Tipping the Scales: Promoting Nutrition and Physical Activity” for parents and child care providers will start on Monday, Feb. 25, 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Sleepy Eye School Lindahl Room. Learn how to help children develop a healthy lifestyle. The series continues on Monday, March 11 and Monday, April 8. CEU’s will be available.
On Monday, March 4, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Trent Weicherding, kindergarten instructor, will be presenting information on Smart Room Activities that can be adapted to a private day care setting using things already available.

A number of events have been planned for Saturday, Feb. 23. Included are All Day Quilting, Babies class, Electronic E Books and More workshop and Mt. Kato Ski Trip.
Upcoming 55 Alive renewal classes are scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 27, 1-5 p.m. and Monday, March 18, 5:30-9:30 p.m.
The “Say Yes to No” book discussion is planned for Tuesdays, Feb. 19 and 26 and March 5, 6-7:30 p.m.

The Community Education office is located in room 109 of the Sleepy Eye High School. School day office hours are generally 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
