  • City Council approved purchase of lot forfeited to the state

  • At a regularly scheduled Sleepy Eye City Council meeting held Monday evening the council unanimously approved to purchase lot 6, block one, Nelson’s second addition which had been forfeited to the State of Minnesota.

  • At a regularly scheduled Sleepy Eye City Council meeting held Monday evening the council unanimously approved to purchase lot 6, block one, Nelson’s second addition which had been forfeited to the State of Minnesota.
     
    Total purchase price of the lot would be just over $9,800. City Manager Mark Kober encouraged the council to consider the measure before the vote, saying that about $7,500 would be returned to the city from owning the lot.
     
    In other news the council approved:
     
    • applications for exempt gambling permits for a Brown County Pheasants Forever raffle to be held at the Eagles Orchid Inn and the St. Mary’s Men’s Sausage dinner raffle to be held March 3.
    • for the county recycling coordinator to seek support for a recycling grant for Sleepy Eye parks.
