Allison Janney has been cast as the mother of Anna Faris' character in CBS' Chuck Lorre sitcom pilot MOM, TVGuide.com has learned.

In the half-hour comedy, Faris plays a newly sober single mother who's trying to get her life together in Napa Valley. Janney, who's best known for her Emmy-winning role as White House Press Secretary C.J. Cregg on The West Wing, will play her mother Bonnie. Janney, who has guest-starred on such shows as Lost and The Big C, most recently was a regular on the short-lived ABC comedy Mr. Sunshine.
Lorre and Eddie Gorodetsky, co-producers of Two and a Half Men, will act as executive producers on the new project, which is being produced by Warner Bros. TV.
