Each month the Lions Club features a St. Mary's School student as a Student of the Month. Katie Sellner is the January Lions Club Student of the Month.

Katie’s activities at St. Mary’s School include being a three year band member and participating in danceline for the past four years. Katie has earned a spot on the National Honor Society as well as the ‘A’ honor roll. She has been a class officer and the National Honor Society secretary.

In the community Katie has volunteered her time at Kids Against Hunger and at her church festival. She is a Mass Altar server, a juror on the Brown County Teen Court and involved in the Lexio Divina prayer group.

In her spare time she enjoys babysitting, baking, running and being with friends and family.

The personal values and strengths that Katie believes will help her succeed include a strong work ethic, a positive personality, organization and strong faith.

She added that every opportunities help her grow as a person and hardships are a useful lesson.

The people that Katie feels have had the greatest influence in her life are her parents.

“They have taught me that although you will encounter hardships, hard work and perseverance pay off,” Katie said.

Following graduation Katie plans to attend college to pursue a bachelors degree in dietetics.
