  • School board elects officers

  • The Sleepy Eye Public School board introduced the newly elected members at a regularly scheduled meeting Jan. 10. New board members include Jon Reiderer, Bryan Sellner and Joanne Dittbenner.

  • The Sleepy Eye Public School board introduced the newly elected members at a regularly scheduled meeting Jan. 10. New board members include Jon Reiderer, Bryan Sellner and Joanne Dittbenner.
     
    The board also elected officers for this year. Darla Remus is the re-elected chair, Casey Coulson was elected as vice-chair, Shelia Schmid was re-elected as clerk and Jon Reiderer was newly elected to treasurer.
     
    Board members were also assigned to various committees.
     
    In other news, the board approved:
     
    • the hire of James Glaubitz as SPED paraprofessional
    • to accept a donation of $1,000 from the New Ulm Medical Center to be used for high school physical education curriculum
    • to accept a $500 anonymous donation to the elementary library to be used to purchase books
    • approve the resignation of Cyndi Jakel, elementary instructor, effective Jan. 18.
