  • Midwest top snowmobile hillclimbers in Sleepy Eye

  • The River Valley Dutchmen Snowmobile Club is sponsoring the first MASTERS Racing Circuit Professional Snowmobile Hillclimb on Saturday, January 19th at the Golden Gate Campground north of Sleepy Eye on Highway 4.

  • The River Valley Dutchmen Snowmobile Club is sponsoring the first MASTERS Racing Circuit Professional Snowmobile Hillclimb on Saturday, January 19th at the Golden Gate Campground north of Sleepy Eye on Highway 4.
     
    The competition will begin at 9 am, and the King of the Hill championship runs will be held at the end of the day. Parking will be available at the bottom of the hill so fans can watch the competition from vehicles while listening to it from over the FM Radio Band. Food and Refreshments will also be available on the grounds.
     
    All drivers are required to be at a drivers meeting on Friday, Jan. 18 at the Railway Bar and Grill in Sleepy eye. The meeting, starts at 7 pm and the drivers will 'draw' for the order they will competing in.
     
    This meeting is also the final chance for anyone who still needs to register to compete at the event.
     
    MASTERS will not take registration the day of the event.
    The Pro Stock King of the Hill will receive $500 from Miller-Sellner and the Pro Mod King of the Hill will receive $500 from Vetter Sales and Service.
     
    MASTERS Racing Circuit, which stands for Mid America Snow and Terrain Extreme Racers, has been sanctioning snowmobile hillclimbs for over 20 years. However, this event at Golden Gate Campground will be the first professional snowmobile hillclimb in the state of Minnesota.
     
    This event will also be a qualifying event for the World Championship Snowmobile Hillclimb in Jackson, Wyo., March 21-24.
     
    The Pro Stock and Pro Mod King of the Hill at this event will automatically qualify racers for the World Championship, along with the driver that takes second in both the Pro Stock King of the Hill and the Pro Mod King of the Hill.
