  • Boy Scouts tackle Base Camp

  • Boy Scout Troop 100 in Sleepy Eye went on an adventure with fifth through 11th grade young men and had an opportunity at Base Camp that included being the flight crew of a space shuttle simulator (one of only eight in the world) and indoor rock climbing, a wall modeled after the cliffs of Taylors Falls with three stories of rope work.

    The day culminated with pizza and a movie. The archery range is an activity that builds skills and concentration and features five stations.
    The Space Simulator at Base Camp is one of only eight in the country and the only simulator like it in the Midwest. The simulator was built as an exact replica of the space shuttle cockpit.
