  • Festival of Interest art contest winners announced

  • For the past seven years, an art show committee has organized a contest at the Festival of Interests. Anyone who would like to display their photographs, sketches or paintings can do so and the general public votes on the winners.

  • For the past seven years, an art show committee has organized a contest at the Festival of Interests. Anyone who would like to display their photographs, sketches or paintings can do so and the general public votes on the winners.
     
    According to Judy Beech, next year the committee hopes to add categories and hold a bigger and better art show/contest.
     
    A total of $180 was awarded in prize money. Winners of this years contest include:
     
    • First place-Dana Miller with a composite photograph entitled “Sunday Morning”-$50.
    • First place-Nathan Miller with a pen and pencil sketch entitled “Skull and Bottle”-$50.
    • Second place-Peggy Tauer with a water color painting entitled “Marguerie”-$30.
    • Second place-Olivia Beech Peterson with a photograph entitled “Peppy”-$30.
    • Third place-Peggy Tauer with an enlarged photograph entitled “Luxemburg Yesterday and Today”-$20.
     
    Each year the art show committee runs an ad before the Festival of Interest encouraging artists to enter the contest. For more information, contact the Depot Museum.
