  • The Sleepy Eye Yes! Team will be holding a Holiday Lights collection on Monday, Dec. 10.

The team is asking residents to turn on their porch light and/or place lights to be recycled on a door step in grocery bags. The Yes! Team will be divided into four groups to cover Sleepy Eye from 5-7:30 p.m.

Lights can also be dropped off at the Sleepy Eye Public Schools in tubs in either the elementary or high school offices as well as at St. Mary’s School. The Brown County REA has partnered with the Yes! Team this year to promote the recycling efforts. They will also have a drop off site for rural residents.

The Yes! team is also asking fans to bring lights to be recycled to the cross town basketball game at St. Mary’s on Thursday, Dec. 13.

After the collection night on Dec. 10, the Yes! Team will continue to accept lights in collaboration with Schutz Family Foods where a drop-off site has also been set up. Reminders of the Holiday Lights collection will be placed in grocery bags at Schutz Family Foods throughout the week prior to Dec. 13.
