  • Lisa Hoffmann is the new owner and operator of Lisa Ann’s Healing Hands. Monday, Nov. 12, Lisa began her second career as a Certified Massage Therapist out of Friendz Salon.

“I’ve wanted to pursue this for the past decade, but the timing just wasn’t right until now,” Lisa added.

She received her certification as a massage therapist through Ridgewater College Advanced Massage Therapy program in Willmar and is also certified for geriatric message.

Her services include relaxation and deep tissue massage, hot stones, ear candling and geriatric massage.

Lisa says that massage and wellness go hand-in-hand and can be a powerful ally in any healthcare regimen.

Massage can help people manage stress, decrease anxiety, enhance sleep quality, improve energy, circulation and concentration while reducing fatigue.

“I am a people person,” Lisa said. “I have been in employment positions for the past 24 years that involve helping people. My passion is to help people and improve their health and well-being.”

The massage sessions take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room in the back of the Friendz Salon that Lisa has customized to promote relaxation. Each client lies on a table especially designed for comfort. Lisa discusses with each client which parts of the body require a message. A typical full-body session, Lisa said, includes back, arms, legs, feet, hands, face, neck and shoulders. A half-hour massage usually includes the upper body.

A relaxation massage, Lisa explained, is exactly like it sounds. It is a massage to relax the body with light strokes.

A deep tissue massage is where Lisa deeply massages the muscle tissue to work out tightness and knots. She added that she only goes as deep as the client can tolerate.
“No pain, no gain is not true,” Lisa said. “I don’t want my clients to be hurting.”

Before each deep tissue massage Lisa says she starts out with a relaxation massage for every client as well as a hot stone treatment to help the muscles relax.
“Everyone who has had me use the stones, loves them,” Lisa added.

Currently her hours are 3-7 p.m. Monday through Friday. To make an appointment, call Friendz Salon at 794-2887.
