Thursday will be the beginning of much windshield time as I trek from Sleepy Eye, to Houston (Minn.), to St. Cloud to Graceville and finally back home.
I’m tired already just thinking about all the time in the car. Good thing I can stay awake as I’ve gotten used to driving alone the last couple of years. Prior to that, whenever we would go somewhere, it was an automatic nap.
It’s grandparents day for my littlest grandchild on Thursday. So yes, I will drive the seven hour round trip to spend an hour with my little buddy. Who wouldn’t?
As a grandma to four active children ranging in grades seven to preschool, I want to be part of the activities they are involved in. Jalyn is in dance, 4-H and school musical programs. Hunter is in 4-H, football, basketball and also school music programs. Caitlin as a preschooler last year, in music program. And now, Isaac, for grandparents’ day. It won’t be long and they will be grown. I want to be a part of those activities and their lives as much as I can.
