Last week in the Herald-Dispatch, you may have seen an advertisement about a promotion locally to benefit the Sleepy Eye Area Food Shelf.
Hope and Faith Floral in Sleepy Eye, New Ulm and Madelia, is working with a national promotion. The promotion is simple, 2 + 10 = 12. But for some families, it means a whole lot more.
Hope and Faith is observing “Caring Rose Week” Nov. 10-17. Two canned goods and $10 (the cost of the roses) purchases a dozen roses. All the food donated goes to the Sleepy Eye Area Food Shelf.
Lisa Visher, owner of Hope and Faith Floral, said they are excited to do this each year, and even more excited to bring this wonderful program to the community of Sleepy Eye. The promotion is not a profit-maker for Hope and Faith, but the food shelf collection is always good. Lisa also said it is a way to make a positive impact on the communities that have been so very good to them; Madelia, New Ulm and now Sleepy Eye.
The time is now, before the rush of the holidays, to ensure that the needy are in our thoughts. Plus, who doesn’t like to have fresh flowers in their home? A two dollar cash donation is allowed in lieu of a food donation. Make your food donation nonperishable food only.
