Victoria "Vickie" Wenner, age 62 of Sleepy Eye, died Monday, Nov.5th, 2012 at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 7:30-10 a.m. on Thursday at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. There will be a Parish Prayer Service at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Msgr. Eugene Lozinski will be officiating and Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Sleepy Eye. Victoria "Vickie" Ruth Wenner was born on August 2, 1950 in Slayton, the daughter of Les and Frances "Fran" (Meaden) McCormick. She grew up in Slayton and attended college in Mankato where she met Bernie Wenner. Bernie and Vickie were married on August 20, 1971 in Slayton. Bernie and Vickie had four children, Shawn, Ben, Jesse and Maria. Vickie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. She loved to garden, especially flowers. She also loved exercising and teaching. Vickie enjoyed going to the U of M Arboretum in Chaska. She especially loved spending time with her three grandchildren, visiting with her close group of friends and dancing at weddings.
She is survived by her husband, Bernie Wenner of Sleepy Eye, children, Shawn (Sara) Wenner of Mapleton, Ben (Vicky) Wenner of Burnsville, Jesse Wenner of Mankato, Maria Wenner and Julius Jackson of Minneapolis; three grandchildren, Kole, Natalie and Kaya. Brothers and sisters, Jerry McCormick of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Dan (Paula) McCormick of Pierre, S.D., Dale McCormick of Salinas, Calif., Mary (Terry) Peterson of Apple Valley and Craig (Shannon) McCormick of Lakeville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
