On Tuesday, Oct. 2, five of Sleepy Eye FFA’s Career Development Event (CDE) Teams competed at the University of Minnesota at the Fall Invitational.
On Tuesday, Oct. 2, five of Sleepy Eye FFA’s Career Development Event (CDE) Teams competed at the University of Minnesota at the Fall Invitational. This was the first contest of the year for the CDE teams. The CDE teams who competed were General Livestock, Dairy, Horse, Poultry and Soils. There were numerous FFA members and chapters competing at the contest.

Sleepy Eye’s Poultry Team took home top honors in the Poultry Contest. The first place team included Brandon Roiger (second place individual), Jamie Fischer (third place individual), Matthew Schroepfer (13th place individual), Tia Cselovszki (15th place individual), Matthew Miller (32nd place individual), and Kolten Nienhaus (35th place individual).
The Sleepy Eye FFA Soils team placed second in the Soils Contest. Justin Kotten earned first place in the competition. Other members of the team included Josh Kotten (ninth place individual gold), Jake Trebesch (12th place individual gold), Austin Trebesch (Silver award), Isaac Braun (Silver award), and Daniel Fischer (Silver award).
Sleepy Eye’s Dairy Evaluation Team placed 11th. Members of the team include Bethany Seifert (27th place individual gold), Sabrina Portner (55th individual gold), Emily Kjelshus (70th individual gold), Mary Rosenhammer (74th individual gold), and Jeni Kotten (Silver award).
Sleepy Eye’s Horse Team’s members included: Samantha Banken, Dylan Dockter and Savanna Christensen.
The Sleepy Eye FFA General Livestock Team members included Ashley Helget, Cody Gilliland, Luke Fischer and Eric Goblirsch.
