The second half property taxes are due Oct. 15 for all property classes with the exception of agricultural and manufactured home taxes which are due Nov. 15.
Payments are accepted until 5 p.m. on the due date at the auditor-treasurer’s office or the License Bureau at 1900 N Franklin. A drop box is available in the Law Enforcement Center parking lot for taxpayer convenience.
Taxpayers receive only one tax statement per year. If a property owner refinances or discontinues paying taxes with their mortgage payments, it is the taxpayer’s responsibility to contact the county offices at 507-233-6613 to determine any tax balance remaining.
Taxpayers may want to consider the direct payment program for property taxes. Beginning in 2013, a new payment cycle will be established. Contact the auditor-treasurer’s office for details.
