Phyllis Larsen, age 89 of Sleepy Eye died on Tuesday, October 02, 2012 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye. Visitation will be on Thursday, Oct. 4. 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. Funeral Services will be on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. Clergy will be Pastor Keith Ainsley and Interment will be at Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Phyllis Randine Larsen was born on August 29, 1923 in Minneapolis, the daughter of Adolph and Irma (Opsal) Moen. She was united in marriage to Lincoln Horman on November 4, 1950 in Minneapolis. Following his death Phyllis was united in marriage to Lester Larsen on March 20, 1965 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. Phyllis and Lester lived South of Sleepy Eye and farmed West of Morgan until retirement in 1980. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye and participated in Ladies Aide and was on the Home Cemetery Board. Phyllis enjoyed antiques, quilting, sewing, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Audrey Horman of Eden Prairie, Richard (Sue) Horman of Rogers, and Ronald (Laura) Horman of Sleepy Eye; grandchildren, Megan (Luke) Breyer, Nicolas Horman, Samantha Horman and Cody Horman; great grandchildren, Emmy Breyer, Patrick Breyer and Karter Knapp; sisters-in-law, Virginia Bendix of Echo and Gloria Moen of Shingles Springs, Calif.; brother-in-law, Glen (Ruth) Larsen of Suitland, Md.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Lincoln Horman and Lester Larsen; and a brother, Robert Moen.
