  • Superintendent John Cselovszki presented the board with results from the current Multiple Measurements Ratings (MMR) for Sleepy Eye Public Schools (SEPS).
For 2012, Sleepy Eye Elementary received the designation of Celebration Eligible School. Out of a possible 75 points, SEPS received 53.13 points placing them at 70.84 percent.
The achievement gap was reduced by 10.72 percent and proficiency gained almost 25 percent.
For Sleepy Eye High School, the numbers were not quite as celebratory. Out of a possible 100 points, the high school scored 59.29 points putting them at almost 60 percent. Because the high school was not in the celebratory percentile, but not below the critical percentile, they were not given a designation.
However, since 2009, MCA test results have showed an upward trend.
Third grade math in 2009 was at a 69.6 percent proficiency level. In 2012, that figure was 75.6 percent proficiency.
In reading in 2009, third graders scored a 60 percentile proficiency. In 2012 third graders were at 80.3 percent.
In celebration for the increased test scores, fourth through seventh grade students were treated to a pool party at the Sleepy Eye Family Aquatic Center the first couple days of school for their hard work on tests.
In other news the board approved:
