    The popular Computers 4 Life workshops will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 2. Class time will be 6-8 p.m. and the group will be meeting in the high school computer lab, room 108. The class meets for four sessions and then a new group is scheduled. Contact Nicole Dummer at 507-354-6750 to register. She also has information on GED classes, College Prep and Pathways to Manufacturing Careers.

    School Readiness classes began this week with a full morning class and nearly full afternoon class. This group meets three times a week. Discovery Time classes begin on Wednesday, Sept. 19 with an afternoon and morning class two days a week. Both classes are full at this time.
    ECFE classes for 3 to 5 year olds begin on Tuesday, Sept. 18. Class times are 9-10:30 a.m., 4:30-6 p.m. or 6:30-8 p.m. Toddlers will meet on Thursday, Sept. 20, 6-7:15 p.m. for their first session. Two year olds meet on Monday, Sept. 24, 6-7:30 p.m.

    The first Community Education Advisory Board meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. in room 109. This is a change in meeting date to the third Thursday.

    Renewal classes for 55 Alive have been arranged for this fall. An evening class (5:30-9:30 p.m.) will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20. A daytime class (1:30-5:30 p.m.) is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 8.
    A special promotion for Veterans is available through AARP for the month of November. The publicity says all veterans, regardless of age, are eligible to take advantage of the Veterans promotion. This includes individuals who serve or have served in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard/Reserves, or Coast Guard. In addition, Veterans' spouses, domestic partners, dependents, children and widows and widowers, regardless of age, may receive the free classroom course.
    Participants are required to fill out a coupon which is available in this office or from the instructors or by downloading one from the AARP website. If one chooses to take the course online, a 50 percent deduction is given during November to Veterans.

    The next outing planned is to Stillwater on Thursday, Oct. 11. Sign up is needed by Sept. 26. Individuals interested in the Lundstrom Country Christmas Celebration are to indicate that by this Friday to determine if a deposit should be made for a block of tickets
