    First on the schedule for fall is an ECFE Babies class on Saturday, Sept. 8, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Parents with new babies are invited to come and discuss tummy time, infant brain development, adjusting to parenthood whether it is a first child or the youngest child.
    September 8 will also be the first class for quilters. Some have already indicated they have a project to work on or will be starting a new project. We meet in the cafeteria at Sleepy Eye School and begin at 8 a.m. Quilters also bring an item to share at coffee time or noon lunch.

    The next open house will be for the Discovery Time Preschool which is for those who have turned three by Sept. 1. It will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 6:30-8 p.m. in the ECFE room 320 at the Sleepy Eye Elementary School. ECFE classes for this age group begin on Tuesday, Sept. 18 and the preschool starts on Wednesday, Sept. 19.
    ECFE classes for Toddlers will meet on Thursday, Sept. 20, 6-7:15 p.m. for their first session. Two-year-olds meet on Monday, Sept. 24, 6-7:30 p.m. The times for 3- to 5-year-olds are 9-10:30 a.m., 4:30-6 p.m. or 6:30-8 p.m. The fall newsletter has been mailed or can be accessed on the school website.

    The next outing is to the Clay County Fair in Spencer, Iowa on Thursday, Sept. 13. The motor coach will leave Sleepy Eye at 7:30 a.m. and return early evening. Sign up by Sept. 7 if you are interested in this day trip.
    Discount tickets and food coupon books for the Renaissance Festival are available through this office for the weekend events at Shakopee.
    A request was received to attend the Lundstrom Country Christmas Celebration in December. A non-refundable deposit needs to be made if you would be interested in this outing.

    Renewal classes for 55 Alive have been arranged for this fall. The first two will be in September. An afternoon class (1:30-5:30 p.m.) will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11 in room 134 at Sleepy Eye High School. An evening class (5:30-9:30 p.m.) will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20. More are scheduled for October and November. Sign up early as the classes do fill.
