Friday at 7 a.m. many will be in Allison Park preparing for a day filled with fun and great food!
They say it takes a village to raise a child, but it takes an entire community of support businesses and volunteers to sustain a successful event such as Sleepy Eye's Corn Days.
This year, the Corn Days committee with Julie's guidance, has created another day filled with many things for the young and young at heart to enjoy.
Just some of the things you can enjoy on Friday are, free sweetcorn from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., hamburgers, 1919 Root Beer, the beer garden, St. John's pie stand, food vendors, inflate-a-fun, kid's games, the Zooman and a craft/ flea market.
Entertainment throughout the day will include: Sleepy Eye Concertina Club, Lonesome Ron, Dain's Dutchmen and the Black Diamonds Band with Larry, Deb and Leon.
A corn eating contest will take place under the flag pole at 12:15 p.m., Sleepy Eye Off Sale vs Arneson Distributing.
The Corn Days raffle will be drawn at 7 p.m. at the "Y' in Allison Park. No need to be present, so get your tickets!
REMEMBER - no pets are allowed in Allison Park Friday during Corn Days.
City Wide Garage Sales take place throughout the weekend so check the map and the classifieds in today's Herald-Dispatch.
The Buttered Corn Days fitness extravaganza is in Allison Park beginning at 8 a.m.
Dad's Belgian Waffle Feed sponsored by the Sleepy Eye Historical Society takes place from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Sleepy Eye Public School cafeteria, (Note this is a new location!)
From noon to 3 p.m the Sleepy Eye Fire Department will host an open house in honor of their 125th Anniversary.
