  • NOTICE OF PRIMARY ELECTION PRAIRIEVILLE TOWNSHIP, CITY OF EVAN
    Notice is hereby given to the voters of Prairieville Township and the City of Evan in Brown County, that a Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at the Evan Town Hall. The polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., for the purpose of nominating candidates for the Federal and State offices to be voted for on the Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, General Election. Anyone needing an absentee ballot, please contact the Brown County Auditor’s office prior to election day, Monday, 5 p.m., Aug. 13, 2012.
    Notice of Public Accuracy Test
    Prairieville Township and the City of Evan will test the electronic voting machine to be used for the vote tabulation in the Primary Election to be held on Aug. 13, 2012, at 1 p.m. This test will be conducted at the Evan Town Hall. The public is invited to attend.

    BROWN COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
    Notice is hereby given that the Brown County Planning Commission, in and for the County of Brown, will conduct certain public hearings as follows:
    2. 9:15 AM: To consider a Conditional Use Permit Application by Jonathan Seifert (Steven & Barbara Seifert, current owners) on property described as part of the NW4 of NE4, Sec 22 - Twp 109N - R 32W, Stark Township, Brown County, for the purpose of amending & expanding CUP #C-00299 to increase from 452 AU to 881 AU (501 mature dairy cattle, 200 dairy heifer, 200 dairy calves) by allowing construction of a new 106’ x 180’ freestall barn and a new 42-’ x 200’ x 8’ deep earthen basin. The operation also includes the following existing barns: one (1) 38’ x 55’ partial confinement barn with a 140’ x 80’ open lot, one (1) 80’ x 365’ freestall barn, one (1)  106’ x 216’ freestall barn, one (1) 42’ x 90’ partial confinement barn with a 200’ x 3000’ open lot, one (1) 40’ x 145’ total confinement barn and one (1) 250’ x 400’ open lot all in the A-1 Agricultural Protection Zoning District.
    Page 3 of 3 - 3. 9:30 AM: To consider a Conditional Use Permit Application by Gary Nelson (Lois Nelson, current owner) on property described as the W2 of the NE4 & NE4 of the NW4 Sec 20 - Twp 110N - R 33W, Prairieville Township, Brown County, for the purpose of renewing CUP #5536 and to continue to allow use of a 130’ x 260’ x 8’ deep earthen basin in a beef steer feedlot operation with up to 350 AU (350 head) located in the A-1 Agricultural Protection Zoning District.
    Notice is further given, that the above hearings will be held by the Brown County Planning Commission on TUESDAY, August 14, 2012, beginning at 9:00 AM in the Commissioners Room 204 of the Brown County Courthouse, New Ulm, Minnesota, at which time you may appear if you so desire, either in person or by agent or attorney, in opposition to, or support of, the proposed Plat or Conditional Use Permits.
    Hearings of these appeals are not limited to those receiving copies of this Notice, and if you know of any neighbor or affected property owner who, for any reason, has not received a copy, it would be appreciated if you would inform them of this public hearing.
    A copy of each proposed request is on file in the Brown County Planning & Zoning office, Brown County Courthouse, 14 South State Street, New Ulm, Minnesota and may be viewed during regular business hours. If you have any concerns over the proposed use of the property, then please submit your input either in person or in writing to the Planning Commission.
