Rosemary Margaret (Maurer) Krueger was born January 26, 1933, to George and Margaret (Ganske) Maurer in rural Evan, and died Wednesday afternoon, July 11, 2012, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Rose graduated from high school in 1950 from St Mary’s High School.  She was united in marriage to Lester Benjamin Krueger on April 19, 1952, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, five sons, 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Rosemary was involved in the day-to-day farming activities, operations of the North Star Seed Company and raising their seven children. She was active in the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association and served as the chairperson for the First Soybean Princess Soya Contest. She was a member of St. Raphael’s Parish Council, St. Anne’s Alter Society, St. Raphael’s Board of Education, North Star Study Club, and was a 4-H member and leader. In the last few years she enjoyed her role and involvement with the Springfield Area Historical Society. Hobbies Rose enjoyed were scrapbooking, garage sales, decorating, auctions, antiquing, shopping, family history and country road drives - especially the ones where she could see her family planting and harvesting the crops. She also enjoyed visiting her siblings, delivering meals to the farmhands, going to deer camp, and cleaning and organizing.
She treasured moments with family, going to grandchildren’s events and holidays (especially Christmas). Rosemary was known to many as “Grandma Rosie.” She was everyone’s Special Angel. Blessed be her memory.
