    The Sleepy Eye United boys and girls track and field team competed in a quad meet at BOLD/BHS last Wednesday. The Girls took second place with 167.5 points and the boys placed third with 115. The BOLD/BHS boys and girls teams each took first place.

    The Sleepy Eye United boys and girls track and field team competed in a quad meet at BOLD/BHS last Wednesday. The Girls took second place with 167.5 points and the boys placed third with 115. The BOLD/BHS boys and girls teams each took first place.  
    Girls
    The 4 x 100 team of Courtney Schmitt, Becca Zinniel, Jessica Schmitz and Becca Schmitz took first place with a time of 55.08 and the 4x200 team of Nikki Carr, Courtney Schmitt, Jessica Schmitz and Jamie Marti took first in a time of 1:50.68 to sweep the sprint relays. In the 800 meter relay Ellen Mathiowetz, Hayley Neid, Kennedy Pelzel and Natalie Schwartz teamed up to take first with a time of 11.01.  Jamie Marti won both the 400 meter (1:02.9) and the 200 meter (26.65) races. Second place finishers were the 4x400 relay team of Natalie Schwartz, Ellen Mathiowetz, Sabrina Portner and Mariah Salfer; Kennedy Pelzel in the 1600; Mariah Salfer in the 300 hurdles and 100 hurdles; and Jessica Schmitz in the triple jump. Third place finishers were Natalie Schwartz in the 800; Tanisha Goblirsch in the 1600, Sabrina Portner in the 100 hurdles, Becca Schmitz in the high jump and Jamie Marti in the triple jump.
    Boys
    Dillon Kober finished first in the 200 meters with a time of 24.67 and Mario Gomez took first in the 1600 meter race with a time of 5:06. Gomez also finished second in the 800 and Steven Joyce took second in the 3200 meter race. Ruben Astorga captured second in the high jump, Donovan Wells took second in the shot put and Kober took second in the triple jump. Kober added a third place finish in the 100 and Jake Lilleodden took third in the 400.
    New Ulm Invitational (Waseca, SEU, New Ulm, Loyola, GFW)
    The girls team finished second in the five-team New Ulm Invitational Saturday and the boys finished in last place.  Waseca won both the girls and boys meet.
    Girls
    Nikki Carr won the 100 with a time of 13.63 and the relay teams won both sprint relays. In the 4x100 Courtney Schmitt, Samantha Walter, Jessica Schmitz and Becca Schmitz broke the tape at 53.96 and the 4x200 team of Nikki Carr, Courtney Schmitt, Becca Schmitz and Jamie Marti did likewise in 1:51.47. Jamie Marti won the 400 in 1:01.67 and the 200 in 27.06. Jessica Schmitz took first in the triple jump at 32-05. Second place finishers were Kennedy Pelzel in the 1600, Mariah Salfer in the 300 hurdles, Nikki Carr in the 200, Becca Schmitz in the high jump and Jamie Marti in the triple jump. In third place were the 4x800 relay team of Kari Schumacher, Ellen Mathiowetz, Kennedy Pelzel and Natalie Schwartz; the 4x400 relay team of Natalie Schwartz, Ellen Mathiowetz, Sabrina Portner and Mariah Salfer, Mariah Salfer in the 100 hurdles; Jessica Schmitz in the 100, Kari Schumacher in the 3200, Cassidy Hacker in the high jump and Sabrina Portner in the long jump.

    Mario Gomez took second in the 1600 at 4:47 and Michael Sprenger took second in the 110 hurdles with a time of 18:05.
