Arlene Ruth Jensen was born on July 25, 1941 in Sacred Heart, the daughter of Werner and Delores (Petermann) Brockhoff. She graduated from New Ulm Public School and cosmetology training in Mankato. Arlene worked in Mountain Lake as a hairdresser and then out of her home for 50 years. She married Mark Jensen on March 3, 1962 in New Ulm. The couple moved to the family farm in rural Sleepy Eye in 1963. Arlene enjoyed farm work, driving tractors, caring for her children, and spending time with friends and neighbors. She enjoyed visits to her parent's home on Maple Lake and often fished into the wee hours of the morning. In later years, baiting her granddaughters' fish hooks and giving Gator rides gave her great joy. Any vermin daring to make their travels thru the yard would meet their demise due to Arlene's shining flashlight and trusty 410. Arlene enjoyed shopping and was always successful in finding the best deals. She participated in bowling league for several years, was a long time member of St.John's Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye, enjoyed life on the farm, woodworking, crocheting and visiting with lifelong family and friends. She also enjoyed creating afghans for many family and friends over the years.
She is survived by her son - David (Kelli) Jensen and their three daughters - Megan, Allison, and Cindy of Comfrey, MN; daughter - Brenda (Bob) Runck and their two daughters - Haley and Sydney of Springfield, MN; step grandson - Zachary, Nicholas, and Benjamin Runck; six nieces and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Mark in June of 2008; sisters - Marilyn and Beverly; sister-in-law - Janet; aunts, uncles and cousins.
