“The girls deserve all the credit for getting this win,” said Ryan Hulke, Sleepy Eye coach. “We went into halftime up three, and St Mary’s came out on a 7-1 run and worked it up to a 12 point lead with around six minutes to go.” The Indians had a lot of foul trouble with their post players, Justine Gonzales and Claire Krumbach, each tagged with four fouls, but Hulke had no choice but to put them in with 6:30 to go in the game. “It’s lucky we only lost one of them, Justine, to five fouls. We were tied with 1:20 left and we had the ball. We finally took care of it for over a minute, and went inside out multiple times until Krumbach found an open Sydney Remus for a layup and the foul to put us up three and get the win.” The Indians ended the game on a 14-2 run. Jessica Busch collected five steals and converted them into layups.
