- The Buttered Corn Days 2012 took place Friday, Aug. 17 at Allison Park in Sleepy Eye. Almost 7 tons of free Del Monte corn was eaten. This figure, according to Sleepy Eye Chamber of Commerce Director Julie Schmitt, was up from previous years. The St. John's pie stand reported having their best year ever. Over 1,900 burgers were also served.
